Slim silhouette for organic architecture

KÖHL equips new corporate headquarters in Dortmund with 1,000 ANTEO® conference chairs.

The electricity network operator Amprion has built a new corporate headquarters in Dortmund-Hörde. The renowned Düsseldorf architecture firm RKW Architektur + took up the organic shape of the property for its design. The building harmoniously inserted into the area suggests association with a nerve cell, the branches of which extend into the surroundings of the park-like area. A view of the countryside from all sides, a light-flooded foyer as a central place of communication and, overall, a curved design language characterize the new Amprion headquarters, which was completed and occupied in spring 2019.

There is great flexibility on the four floors, and each of the 920 workstations provides a view of free space. And in the spacious conference rooms there are no limits to the exchange of ideas and constructive discussions. The approximately 1,000 “Anteo®” conference chairs from the Köhl seating manufacturer also playfully take up the airy appearance of the building again. Because the dynamic lines of the chair series harmonize excellently with the organic architecture.

But the "Anteo®" chairs that are used as cantilever chairs with automatic comfort rockers or as swivel armchairs at Amprion are not only convincing visually, but also functionally and ergonomically. Equipped with black cover fabric for the seat and special, hard-wearing “tube” upholstery on the backrests, the chairs offer excellent seating comfort even during longer meetings. And best of all: “Anteo®” is also 98% recyclable and ecologically sustainable.
